For this mosaic, 64 TM scenes were radiometricly adapted to produce 4 mosaic files. The data was prepared in such a way that it could also be used for future map production. The work was completed for the Antarctic Program of the Institut für Angewandte Geodäsie (Institute for Applied Geodesy), IfAG, Frnakfurt. It is known today as the Bundesamt für Geodäsie und Kartographie (The Federal Office for Geodesy and Cartography), BGK.
